The program
What is SmartSlaps?
SmartSlaps is a civic education program of SmartSlaps Foundation, a Nevada-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Guardian SmartSlaps, QR-linked learning, and real-world engagement help children learn, explain what matters to them, and connect with their communities.
Who can use SmartSlaps?
Families, schools, teachers, homeschool groups, libraries, youth programs, and community service partners can explore the program. Fire, EMS, law enforcement, and other appropriate community settings have their own starting guides at the instruction hub.
Can kids really lead this?
Yes. Children can choose a Guardian, learn what it represents, and explain that learning in a safe, adult-approved setting. Interested adults decide whether to use the existing support options. Children do not need to approach strangers, handle money, or generate donations.
Is this a fundraiser?
SmartSlaps is not a traditional product fundraiser. There are no product sales, prize tiers, or fundraising quotas. It is a civic engagement and community support program that includes voluntary, recipient-designated giving.
Does participation require a scan, donation, or student account?
No. A child can participate without a scan, donation, public post, or student account. Learning, communication, responsibility, and community connection come first. Our existing parent safety and privacy promises continue.
Requests & delivery
What arrives in the mail now?
Your confirmed Guardian SmartSlaps, with a brief printed starting explanation, QR code, and readable website address. The default shipment is no longer a decorative presentation box with individually wrapped items, laminated guides, or a full printed packet. Larger confirmed quantities may need a larger mailer or ordinary shipping carton.
Where are the instructions and program resources?
Begin at SmartSlaps Start. Read the basic steps, then open the guide for your household, classroom, library, or service setting. Guardian pages and available learning resources remain online. You do not need a printer to begin.
How do schools get started?
An adult coordinator requests free SmartSlaps, indicating the quantity and Guardian preferences. We review funding, inventory, and program fit, then confirm quantities and delivery details. Schools can use the classroom guide immediately.
Can families and homeschool households request smaller quantities?
Yes. The same program works in household quantities. Request together for the participating children rather than submitting a separate shipment request for each child. Organization names are optional for ordinary households. See the family guide or homeschool guide.
Can fire, EMS, police, and service organizations participate?
Appropriate adult-led programs can request supplies for review. Existing Guardian pathways include Fernley and fire outreach, Reno and EMS outreach, Leo and community safety, and Devil and service learning. A request does not confirm a partnership, endorsement, or charitable-recipient status.
Does every request receive 125 SmartSlaps?
No standard quantity is promised to every requester. Households, classrooms, and departments have different needs. We confirm quantities and available Guardians before fulfillment. The Guardian directory is a learning resource, not a live stock count.
I already requested a kit. Do I need to request again?
No. Please avoid a duplicate request. We will contact prior requesters to clarify the simpler delivery format and reconcile previously promised quantities before shipping. Changing the package does not silently reduce an earlier commitment. Contact us about an existing request.
Will existing SmartSlap QR codes still work?
The envelope's QR opens starting instructions. Existing SmartSlap codes retain their established learning or support destinations. The delivery change does not replace those routes.
What information should I send?
Use an adult contact, delivery details, quantities, and Guardian preferences. Do not send children's names, birth dates, photos, student lists, patient records, or incident information. Review the privacy policy before submitting a request.
What happens after a request is submitted?
Submission is not approval or a shipping confirmation. Requests are reviewed and fulfilled as funding and inventory allow. We confirm available Guardians, quantities, and delivery details before shipment.
What about people who cannot easily use the online instructions?
The shipment includes brief printed starting guidance, and the online guides are readable as text and printable when useful. Contact SmartSlaps about difficulty accessing the instructions so we can help you get started.
We are already participating. How do we request more?
Use the existing resupply request and confirm your quantity and Guardian needs. Supply and delivery remain subject to review, funding, and inventory.
Community support
Where do donations go?
Recipient-designated gifts identify the school, library, or public-safety mission the donor intends to support. SmartSlaps does not retain a portion of those gifts. Donors cover the platform and processing fees shown at checkout; Givebutter tips are off. Foundation gifts separately fund materials, shipping, technology, and mission operations.
When is recipient support sent?
Recipient support is delivered or sent on the 1st of each month. We update our reporting sheet to reflect it. Sent, delivered, and bank-cleared payments can have different dates. Ask us about the timing or status of a particular gift.
How do we join a community challenge?
Choose the school, library, or public-safety guide. Open the campaign, select Join the Challenge, sign in, and join or start an adult-led team. Use your team’s own fundraising link so gifts can be credited correctly. Joining does not require a donation.
Does finding a school automatically create its team?
No. The school directory and challenge teams are separate. Search for an existing team before creating another. A missing directory listing can be requested by an adult; it does not prevent you from following the team guide.
Does a leaderboard prove money reached the mission?
No. Fundraising totals, cleared deposits, recipient payments, and documented use are different records. Use the accountability guide to follow each step.
Are donations tax-deductible?
SmartSlaps Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Donors should consult their tax advisor for guidance.
Do donors receive anything?
Donors receive a thank-you and donation receipt. SmartSlaps is not built around prizes or product incentives. The goal is direct community support and civic engagement.
What makes this different from typical school fundraising?
There is no sales inventory for students, no product selling, and no fundraising quota. Students learn and share; interested adults choose whether to support and which eligible recipient to select. Read how the support model works.

SmartSlaps Foundation is a Nevada nonprofit corporation and IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) organization. SmartSlaps is its civic education program.
How does SmartSlaps operate transparently?
Clear recipient designation, direct community support, and visible program records remain core commitments. Visit the existing transparency board and Foundation information.
Does simpler delivery change the mission?
No. We are changing what we physically send, not the educational and community purpose, Guardian identities, voluntary participation, or existing funding commitments.
